Endeavor is 40ft overall. Built in 1988 by her current owner Richard Johnson. The builder says he liked the profile of a Concordia Yawl (who doesn't) so he created a carvel hull of pine on oak and rigged it as a sloop. The next eight years Endeavor campaigned in area races and once in the Marblehead to Halifax event. Sail costs became a discouraging factor so Mr. Johnson bought a smaller sloop and gave Endeavor a rest in 1996-97. The desire to cruise gave Johnson the idea to convert to a schooner rig. He re-positioned the main mast and installed a foremast. In the spring of 1998 the transformation was complete and apparently sailed well. Endeavor's name has been engraved on a few Nova Scotia Schooner Association trophies. With this success and the desire to cruise in a smaller vessel, Endeavor is now for sale.
